THE JUMP

"The Jump" is a documentary film about a young man who is living his dream, with his life at stake. Nick Jacobsen is internationally recognised as one of the world's very best and most attention-grabbing kite surfers. He is one of the true pioneers of this sport and has a reputation for his crazy daredevil stunts, in which he jumps from spots that nobody else would dare to approach.
For the last three years, Nick's dream has been to kite jump from the top of the iconic 321-metre-high Burj Al Arab in Dubai, the world's only seven-star hotel and one of the tallest hotels in the world. He has been warned against this stunt by several people and on more than one occasion it has seemed that he would have to give up on the idea. How do you go about getting permission to even do it?
There is help at hand if you are as stubborn as Nick and are able to find unexpected assistance from Sir Richard Branson, who is one of the few who really believes that Nick can pull this off.
